Summer’s coming up and all of us want our beach bodies to be in perfect shape. But weight loss isn’t just about eating less or going to the gym every single day.
I want to touch on something a little more serious. Now looking good and feeling good isn’t just a superficial goal. Obesity is dangerous and is often the reason for heart disease, depression, and an early death.
But just how does one lose weight in the safest and most positive way?
As a human being, you are multifaceted and in order to lose weight you need to look as good as you feel. What many people fail to realize is that their main obstacles to losing weight are often emotional or spiritual.
Like I said, it’s not always about the calories you put into your body. That is just one aspect of your well-being and weight loss. Your physical wellness is tied directly to other parts of your life and together they make up 4 vital components of your health and well-being.
These 4 parts of your health are:
- Physical
- Mental
- Spiritual
- Emotional
I want to stress the last part: your emotional part. Many people neglect this to their detriment. Addictions, depression, and overeating are often the symptom of unresolved emotional issues. We live in a society that urges people to repress their emotions and there is often a negative stigma attached to the word, emotional. But in order to make your weight loss plan successful, you will need to confront your emotional issues and deal with them.
Now that you are aware of your 4 components, you need to integrate them to form a weight loss plan that will be safe and sustainable for you.
But before you design your program, you need to read over this report on weight management because it will be crucial to how successful your weight loss will be.
Over the next couple weeks I will be releasing some audios and material on weight management so stay tuned for more.

A fifth category — social — may be apropriate to add to Physical, Mental, Spiritual and Emotional as we are almost always in relation to others. Surrounding yourself with people who are encouraging, and maybe even health care professionals can be most helpful.
This couldn’t be more on the mark, Laura. We often pride ourselves on how physically fit we are and how much we can lift, or how fast we can run and for how long or how far, but the moment we realize that we are emotionally weak, it no longer matters anymore. Thriving on the focus of “us” can’t be any truer to be able to be fully successful in what we deem to be our goals in wellness. Great article!

this was very helpful thank you
No comment just now, thank you.
yes
Absolutely right on the mark Laura. When we let negative emotions dictate our lives, they bring forth the accompanying thoughts and it’s welcome to self-sabotage land. And that’s applicable in all aspects of our lives, not just for weight loss.
