Everyone’s asking — here is the answer 32

We have received emails of peo­ple ask­ing how they were hav­ing prob­lems in con­cen­trat­ing, and how they were not able to find time to med­i­tate and wanted to know when was the best time to do that.

Con­sid­er­ing the requests we decided to put out sim­ple answers to these ques­tions.. and you can find them below.

Thank you very very much!

It was very use­full, how­ever, there is a thing i didn´t have an answer yet and it is realy anoy­ing me. I usu­aly fall asleep while doing the cen­ter­ing exer­cise. I feel no prob­lem in relax­ing myself, but then i fall a sleep and have dreams that are far from what i was con­cen­trat­ing. I don´t sleep for long, i wake up sev­eral times doing the exer­cise, but , this way, i´m find­ing it very hard do visualize.

Thank you for the infor­ma­tion, I always won­dered about the best time to med­i­tate. I do find med­i­tat­ing before I go to sleep the most effec­tive, and will con­tinue with this prac­tise. Thanks again! Love it!

I use Cen­ter­ing Exer­cise suc­ces­ful.
I wished a bet­ter con­tact with my elder sis­ter. Today my sis­ter helped me! Ear­lier I asked her that we go shop­ping some min­eral water. She for­got her promise but after some med­i­ta­tion her promise ‘came back’!

My con­cen­trate is bet­ter after med­i­ta­tion. I am study­ing for a smaller Eng­lish lan­guage exam­i­na­tion and after the med­i­ta­tion it is easy. It is very nat­ural and good feel.

I expe­ri­ence the same con­di­tion as Miguel — these exer­cises relax me so much I usu­ally drift off to sleep. And my skills at full-on “visu­al­iz­ing” are not what I expect them to be, based on what I hear in the lessons. The best I can do is just “imag­ine”, con­cep­tu­ally. Oth­er­wise, a great means to focus one’s concentration.

I also fall asleep dring the cen­ter­ing and have dreams unre­lated to the issues I am fac­ing. I am well rested and eat whole­somely so my health is great.…why am I falling asleep? I do wake up refreshed and alert with no fog­gi­ness or phys­i­cal prob­lem return­ing to “Life” :) but I can’t seem to stop the nap from hap­pen­ing. Please advise as I see here that oth­ers have the same challenge.

The count­down deep­en­ing exer­cise has remark­ably improved my sub­con­scious mind and my mem­ory. After going to alpha and relax­ing in that state, it seems to me, as though i had a good night’s sleep. Its really refreshing

Thanks for the sug­ges­tions on Med­i­ta­tion and Con­cen­tra­tion. Let me ask you to help with a prob­lem I have had all my life. Focus, I try to read a book, and my mind will wan­der, pretty soon I am read­ing the words and think­ing of some­thing else. Dri­ves me crazy… What sug­ges­tions do you have?

HI there Laura — I have a major prob­lem; when doing the 3,2,1 and then the ten count­down, well, I fall right asleep I get so relaxed, Its very dif­fi­cult for me to main­tain any focus at all even though I am deter­mined to stay awake and not drift off — but as soon as the count down starts and I begin to get more and more relaxed, well, by the time the “relax your face, relax your arms, your legs” Bingo I am gonzo to the world.
Can you help — I find this really frus­trat­ing and am stuck in the course as I don’t feel I can accom­plish the course when I keep going to sleep when try­ing to go to Level — HELP PLEASE.….… : )) Even though I find it a bit humor­ous, I feel it is block­ing me from enjoy­ing the full ben­e­fit of the course and from pro­ceed­ing fur­ther with the mate­r­ial.
I also want to tell you how much admi­ra­tion I have for the Silva Method, and all the peo­ple involved over the years, Jo Lyt­tle, is espe­cially touch­ing with her obvi­ous deeply emo­tional com­mitt­ment to help­ing the home­less — its not hard to see that her heart, and soul are com­pletely and deeply given to this path in her life. An incred­i­ble woman to care so deeply for those that soci­ety has thrown away, kudos to this out­stand­ing woman.….…. and like­wise the other out­stand­ing Silva peo­ple, Burt Gold­man, etc.…. and now I get a chance to get to know you too Laura.…. Thank you for a very timely response to a prob­lem I have been hav­ing. About a month ago I started using your free lessons and it seems as if I kept get­ting stuck at a cer­tain level of med­i­ta­tion and could not make myself get beyond the poor con­cen­tra­tion and lack of visu­al­iza­tion skills that the lessons taught. This is where I had given up before in learn­ing mind skills because noone had men­tioned that this is a nor­mal learn­ing hur­dle and to keep going like Laura said. My old teacher said that I had to much brain dam­age and that I would never remem­ber or be able to visu­al­ize things again. (I was in a cou­ple of acci­dents, one I was a pas­sen­ger in a car that was hit by a train.) Thank you, thank you for say­ing that this is the nor­mal way your brain works is by jump­ing to other sub­jects and just keep going back to what you are work­ing on. Deep breath time and I know I will suc­ceed this time!

HI thankyou for the advise it has come at a timely moment in my devel­op­ment.
I have done the Silva online course and found it very ben­e­fi­cial I i have come to belive that your method should be incoopo­rated into edu­ca­tional estab­lish­ments, with hind­site I see how much more I would have ben­e­fited If I had done it while in school when I was younger. No mat­ter we are at this moment and we have started on the path.
Is it pos­si­ble to get a course that is focused on chil­dren as I have would like my chil­dren to ben­e­fit from this.

I too have the same prob­lem as most of the peo­ple here has jot­ted down i.e. doz­ing off while med­i­tat­ing whether its in the morn­ing, after­noon or before going to sleep at night. How can i over­come this probem, pls help

Hi Laura, the pro­gram is prob­a­bly work­ing for a great num­ber of peo­ple, how­ever, I am hav­ing dif­fi­culty at the count­down. I stated off okay and like Jes­sica, I go to sleep. It seems to be a much needed sleep but this is cre­at­ing in me a feel­ing of usless­ness in my per­sonal efforts. I want to cen­ter, count­down, focus, visu­al­ize and set goals clearly but I am not doing Any of this. My thoughts get jum­bled with so many things I need to do and have to do until lis­ten­ing is the com­fort that puts me right to sleep…I feel a sense of com­fort some­how. I know every­one has some dif­fi­culty or another per­haps, how­ever, I feel really over­whelmed and am dis­tracted so easily…it’s unreal! I feel very vul­ner­a­ble, child-like and lost as I share with you but I am being hon­est about what I’m expe­ri­enc­ing. To be even more hon­est, I don’t know if I will acheive much in 21 days on this program.…I hope I do. Sev­eral days have already gone by and I’m start­ing to avoid doing it at all, pro­cras­ti­nat­ing and then allow­ing myself to be dis­tracted. What would you advise or sug­gest I do from this point?

I was hop­ing for an answer to the prob­lem of falling asleep, as many seem to expe­ri­ence it, even though I don’t really regard it as a prob­lem. It is so relax­ing, I don’t even try to resist and I have a feel­ing that we expe­ri­ence the ben­e­fits sub­lim­i­nally. Well… I hope so. One day when I am rich I plan to reward the Silva Sys­tem, as they have been so gen­er­ous shar­ing free down­loads. I sim­ply couldn’t afford any of these things, so I am truly grate­ful to the Sil­vas. Liz
