Edgar Dean Mitchell, D.Sc. (born September 17, 1930) is an American pilot and astronaut. As the lunar module pilot of Apollo 14, he spent nine hours of February 9, 1971 moonwalking on the Fra Mauro formation, making him the sixth man to walk on the Moon.
