Keeping Hope Alive For The People Of Haiti

Hi friends,

I’m sure that just like all of us at Silva International, you’re shocked and deeply saddened when you heard about the earthquake that devastated Haiti.

The earthquake, which hit last Tuesday, left thousands without shelter, food, water and medical supplies. It’s in these times of crisis that we should all come together and offer our prayers and thoughts for the people of Haiti.

For those of you who are able to do so, I urge you to try and help in any little way possible. Please visit the Red Cross website here to see how you too, can help. For the latest news and updates on Haiti, please visit the home page of The New York Times for the latest photos, videos and news.

Haiti has always been a vulnerable island, from both a humanitarian and geographic perspective. Despite all its heartbreaking difficulties, we must help keep their dream for a better tomorrow alive with the gift of hope. Do all that you possibly can, and remember, every little thing you do, a thought, a prayer,  a donation no matter how small, will help its people and their journey to recovery.

Better and Better,

Laura

Thanks Laura for your words, they contain spiritual power which we all need so much. These days I use to think How is it possible that I am able to complain about my situation in life, looking at this disaster. This kind of thought reminds me that sadness and other negative thoughts come and enter my soul only if and only when I am not conscious enough. So, there are so many miserable circumstances under which we human beings are able to live.…, but however they are, they always can become worse and the only thing we are always able to do is accept the present situation and from acceptance find the peace inside that we need to deal with it. From my so more comfortable situation now, the best words I can say to all those people in pain are: try to accept this and find your inner peace.

Thanks again for this space for expression, Laura

This brings up another subject on disaster that has been bugging me. What is your take on 2012, are you preparing in anyway or is this just another doomsday date that people get hung up on? I program for peace and a positive future but there are so many minds thinking about 2012 in a negative way. There is a lot of people I have talked to and everyone seems a little uneasy about this date. Some are very scared to others who are just uneasy. I really did not start thinking about it until the earthquake in Haiti. What do we need to do if this was a world event?

Thank you Laura. It is good to be reminded of so much we can do even if it seems little. We can always vizualize and send energy to those who are physically helping and to those in distress and we can add whatever we can do. It makes us aware of our blessings and the need we all have to be kinder and more forgiving. Nature is groaning and in pain too from all the pain we cause each other unnecccessarilly. xxx Margo
