..and life changed 1

We got this email the other day, Celisa's story is not only inspiring, but also presents how nothing really stops you from striving to achieve what you set out to:

"It's Celisa from the other night's conference call. I would first like to say how blessed I was that I got to talk to Laura. THE Laura Silva Quesada! That was so incredible! Anyways, there were a lot of other things that I wanted to say but given the time restraint, I held back. I mentioned in the call that I had gone back to college but what I didn't mention is the fact that all of my education is being payed for! Not one dime is coming out of my own pocket! I had always been a little weary of college life because I had heard all these stories about people having outrageous debts and loans to take care of and on top of all that, I just didn't think  was smart enough. After the "mirror of the mind" technique my desire to be that successful person I know I was always meant to be just sort of took over! I figured that cash wasn't just going to literally fall out of the sky but the more I concentrated on that image of me being all that I ever wanted to be, doors started opening up all around. I never realized how many grants and scholarships are really out there! Thank goodness for the people who sincerely want to help others get educated!

The whole school thing is only part of it. I'm 27 and had already been seriously struggling with alcohol and drugs. I had a very good job but was incredibly stressed all the time and so I would turn to my expensive habit of crystal meth or cocaine and liquor to forget any resposibilities I had. By the time I came around to remembering, I would be completely broke. I had no control.

At the beginning of last summer I realized I didn't want to be this destructive person I saw in the mirror anymore. I wanted to change. I forgot what it meant to have purpose or to dream or to wake up not needing an "upper." I started looking up things like prayer and meditation on the internet and came across names like Jose Silva and Burt Goldman. They had very interesting concepts, I thought. Definitley not the usual "fire and brimstone!" bit. I was tired of being scared of getting sent to hell. I needed some help here! Burt looked like a nice man so I read what he had to say and that introduced me to the Silva Method.

Since I started the Silva Life System phenomenal things have happened. I learned to shift my entire focus or perspective on positive things. I cut back on my drug use a great deal by the time I started the program but the urge was still very much there. By then I had gained quite a few pounds because I was replacing drugs with food. Needless to say, that didn't sit too well with me when I actually saw how much weight I had gained! So I began walking a mile a day, then walking half a mile and jogging half a mile. Scott, today I walk one mile and run two miles every single day and I feel FANTASTIC! School is breeze, I think clearly than ever, I'm not stressed or worried about anything and best of all, I'm sober and I love it!

I would like to thank Laura for all that she is doing. This could not have come at a better time for me!"

Welcome! 51

It's a little late, but I really want to share what we all did this New Year's Eve.

I want to Welcome you to my family, my home. We had a great time this New Year's Eve, and we did click some pictures. We had invited some people, there were some snacks and drinks and everyone had a great time. We had over 60 people at our place, and it was one great party to start 2009 with.

Essential stuff for a better you, Every day! 6

The Law of Cause and Effect states that for every movement of energy such as in a natural happening, or a human thought that takes the form of an image, feeling, desire, belief, expectation or action there is a corresponding effect. For this reason the Law of Cause and Effect influences every aspect of your living experience. To determine why your living experience is of a certain quality or why something has come into your life, you simply need to discover what cause preceded the effect.

Which in turn means that every thing that happens in your life is connected to a cause, you can influence the cause and ensure that the effect is something that you desire.. everyday.

It would only a little thought and commitment to yourself to follow these six really simple steps, to a more fulfilling life.

How “Imagery Therapy” is saving thousands of lives from cancer.. 6

A sixty-one year old man named Frank was diagnosed as having a fatal type of throat cancer. His weight had dropped to 98 pounds, he had trouble breathing and could barely swallow. Doctors placed his survival rate at 5% and even pondered whether he should be placed under radiation therapy, since the treatment might only add to his discomfort and not significantly increase his survival odds.

After much thought, the doctors decided to put him under radiation treatment anyway. Fortunately for Frank, Dr. O Carl Simonton, then medical director of the Cancer Counseling and Research Center in Dallas, Texas, was asked to participate in Frank's treatment.

Dr.Simonton suggested that Frank himself had the ability to influence the course of his own disease and taught Frank a number of relaxation and mental imagery techniques.

The treatment of visualization

Frank had to visualize. . .

  • the radiation he received consisted of thousands of tiny bullets of energy bombarding his cells.
  • his cancer cells as being weaker than the normal cells and thus unable to repair the damage they suffered.
  • his body's white blood cells as coming in and swarming over the weakened cancer cells
  • flushing the cancer cells out of his body through his liver and kidneys.

The results were astonishing and far exceeded what usually happens when a patient is treated solely with radiation therapy. Frank experienced almost none of the negative side effects - the skin and mucous membrane damage that normally followed such treatment. In a mere two months he had not only regained his weight and strength but all signs of his cancer had vanished.

Dr. Simonton believes that Frank's remarkable recovery was due in part to his daily regimen of visualization exercises.

Frank is one of thousands of cancer patients that have benefited from imagery therapy through the Simonton Cancer Center.

Dr. Simonton, a Silva graduate was once asked to address the audience at a Silva Convention. "About the Silva system," said Simonton, "I would say it is the most powerful single tool that I have to offer patients."

In her part of the address, Stephanie Simonton, Dr. Simonton's wife, talked about how they used the mental techniques at their clinic. "Probably the single most important tool we have," she said, "is the mental imagery technique." She then went on to tell the audience of the need for all of us to take personal responsibility for our health. "It is up to us to use the technique that all of you who have had the Silva course have learned and to use it regularly," she said.
